Funder Compass is a publisher of content, calculators and tools for Australian borrowers, investors, brokers and lenders. It is owned and operated by eCapital Investments Group Pty Ltd and its affiliated entities ("eCapital", "we", "us"). These guidelines describe the standards we hold our writing and product content to.
1. Accuracy and sourcing
- We source figures from primary references where possible — Services Australia, the ATO, APRA, ASIC, state revenue offices, RBA, lender product disclosure documents, and other official publications.
- Calculators are built from published formulas and rate tables. We label the financial year and the source assumptions on the tool.
- Where a figure is estimated or interpolated (for example, insurance premiums, HELP thresholds or serviceability buffers), we say so.
- We date every article and update it when rules, rates or thresholds change.
2. General information only — not personal advice
- Nothing we publish is personal financial, credit, tax or legal advice.
- Content, calculators and referrals are general in nature. They do not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs.
- By using our calculators, downloading content, or requesting a referral, you acknowledge that the information is general information only and that you should consider whether it is appropriate for you and, if necessary, seek advice from a licensed professional.
3. Independence from commercial relationships
- Advertisers, referral partners and affiliated entities of eCapital do not get to approve, veto, or edit editorial content before it is published.
- Sponsored content, promoted listings, and other paid placements are clearly labelled and separated from editorial content.
- Editorial rankings and comparisons are based on the criteria stated in the article, not on whether a provider pays us.
- Where a company mentioned in editorial content is affiliated with eCapital or has a commercial relationship with us, we disclose that fact.
4. Review process
- Content is written or reviewed by staff with subject-matter experience in Australian lending, financial services, or accounting.
- Regulatory content (for example, CCS, ATO tax, super, credit legislation) is reviewed against the current published rules before publication and again on material changes.
- Errors are corrected. Where a correction is material, we note the change and the date in the article.
5. Contributors and conflicts
- Contributors disclose any material personal interest in a company or product they cover to the editor before publication.
- Where a conflict cannot be avoided, it is disclosed to the reader in the article.
- See our Conflicts of Interest and How we get paid pages for the broader commercial context.
6. Complaints and corrections
If you spot an error, or you have a complaint about the accuracy, fairness or labelling of any content on the site, email hello@fundercompass.com with a link to the page and details of the issue. We aim to acknowledge within 5 business days.
